Hey :) I’m Reuben, I’m a composer from Stockport!

I’m interested in the space between electronic and classical sounds, and I am all about Zen, Nature, Deep Breathing and how this sort of relaxing stuff can have an impact in my work. I like to think of composing as a form of meditation, an act of slowing down.

Whenever I go out, you’ll always see me with my little zoom recorder, capturing the world around me, taking in sounds and a little while later, you might see these pop up in one of my compositions!

I really enjoy making soft, intimate piano music - I firmly believe in the idea that there is beauty and purity in simplicity, and I love composers who champion this, like Max Richter, and Shida Shahabi. As such, I also love ambient music, and enjoy crafting my own soundscapes.

I have written for two films thusfar, but I am excited to one day write for more - I love sculpting narratives through sound and I believe narrative and sound is intertwined. All sounds tell a story, you just have to listen, deeply ;)
